• I approach each painting as a study in color and composition, considering balance, shape, and form. For inspiration, I look to the places I love and the natural world...gardens, flowers, foliage, waterways, and buildings nestled in landscapes. I'm fascinated by the way sunlight travels through trees, lights up the hills and fields, and streams through clouds.

Much of what I represent is a memory of a time or place, and not the time or place itself. When the piece is finished it becomes a remnant of something that once was in the world, but still is, in my mind. I embrace the process of creating a painting, which results in the art emerging from the materials and the action. I believe the sum is more than the parts, and thus for me, art has a spiritual aspect. It is my hope that viewers of my art can feel the connect between art and spirit, and in some way, they feel it is a worthy experience.
